Change of positions within National Executive Committee

Medwyn Williams MBE, FNVS retired from the position of Chairman following 12 years of service to the NVS at the National AGM held in Llangollen on 27 August. Medwyn takes on the role of NVS President so will remain in touch with the Society at the highest level.

According to NVS Chairman, Medwyn Williams MBE, FNVS, the Society is receiving more enquiries for membership from Schools and Educational establishments and Colleges and it was decided to make joining the NVS even more attractive by charging just £15 per year.

In addition to the normal vegetable section, there will be over 25 classes showcasing the finest vegetable growers in the UK. The inter-branch and international displays of vegetables and herbs from Jersey to Northern Island and from Southern England to Scotland should prove particularly interesting with members.

From humble beginnings of a handful of “like-minded growers” getting together to talk about vegetables the Society has now grown to around 2500 members spreading across the UK and Ireland.
